SYNOPSIS:

 

DAMASCUS SQUARE tells the story of a spy who finds himself in an astounding identity crisis. It is based on the story of Eli Cohen, the famous Israeli spy who worked for the Mossad in Syria in the 1960s.

 

DAMASCUS SQUARE has received readings at 54 Below, the Davenport Theatre, the Metropolitan Room, the U.N., and Mana Contemporary Art Center.  Its recent stagings have starred Tovah Feldshuh as Head of the Mossad, Richard Blake as Eli Cohen, Bradley Dean as Hafez, and Janine DiVita as Nadia. 

 

DAMASCUS SQUARE is receiving a full production this August (the 17th, 18th, and 19th) at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in Deal, New Jersey.  Ohad Ashkenazi directs.  More information here: http://axelrodartscenter.com/
